| My Journey My journey into spirituality practices started early in my life, at age fourteen. It was then that I opened my first book on chakras and learned about the power of raising the Kundalini enery.I learned about herbs, vitamins, minerals, superfoods, vegetarian lifestyle, chanting, and much more when I worked at a Health Food Store as my practicing plenty of Hatha yoga in my senior year of high school at a local studio (which I thoroughly enjoyed). Later I began to study all manner of transformational practices from Rebirthing to crystals to meditation and I even completed a traditional Lakota vision quest by the time I was 19! I learned how to make my own floral essences and herbal tinctures. I studied everything I could get my hands on that expounded on ancient teachings for awakening the soul and leading to true enlightenment. I had many experiences that were beyond powerful and they all led me to great healing and understanding of my true path in life to be a teacher and guide for all those who need healing and seek peace within. I learned what worked for me and what did not. I watched my many teachers and I learned who really walked their talk and who was just in it for the bucks. I saw some very beautiful things and also some very ugly but all in all I have been able to learn what it means to expand consciousness while still being a part of the modern world! It is my absolute goal to share this experience with all of my students!! My Personal Practice: My practice began with belly dance. In my very first training I had to learn to dance with live snakes!! I taught belly dance to hundreds of women in Upstate New York at local yoga studios. We had so much fun! I continued my studies with belly dance instensively, practicing with some of the best such as Veena & Neena, Kaeshi Chai of Belly queen, Tamalyn Dallal (who helped train Shakira's instructor) and my favorite teacher, Dolphina! Dolphina helped me to see beyond just the cultural aspects of belly dance but to see the transcendent aspects and how it could be used a sacrament to the soul. When this energy awakened in me, I began to have experiences with the elusive kundalini! Once I learned Kundalini Yoga I was hooked! Not just because I thought it was cool to learn the most ancient form of yoga still alive today but because it helped me out of a major health crisis. It is not an exaggeration when I say that Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan saved my life. I practice the kriyas, meditations, and chants regularly. Sometimes I do a 120 day practice, sometimes a 90 day practice and most often a 40 day practice. Sometimes I also like to rotate a practice until I decide what my next focus will be. For a long while, I mainly focused on Detoxification kriyas and Prosperity meditations. These were so powerful and so effective and made me feel even more grateful to know about these practices! I almost never teach a class that I haven't done myself!! |
